Jose Gomes, the current coach of Al-Fateh SC, has filed an official complaint with FIFA against his former club, Zamalek.
According to Egyptian media reports, the Portuguese coach complained about not receiving his outstanding dues, amounting to $120,000.
Zamalek reached an agreement with Gomes to settle these dues last August, and the club announced at the time that the case had been completely closed.
However, Gomes asserts that the terms of the settlement have not yet been met, and the coach has not received his outstanding dues in the previously agreed installments.
In such cases, FIFA always sides with players and coaches, and thus Zamalek faces a fine of the original amount, a registration ban, and other severe penalties.
Zamalek is currently experiencing a major financial crisis, with players complaining that they have not yet received their dues. This is in addition to several lawsuits filed with FIFA, while Hussein Labib’s administration is unable to provide economic solutions following the October land sale crisis.
