Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala suffered a horrific injury while playing for the Bavarian club against Paris Saint-Germain in the 2025 Club World Cup quarterfinals.
The German international pressed goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma in the hope of intercepting a dangerous ball, but the Italian’s hand intervened, causing Musiala’s foot to appear severely broken, a scene that terrified everyone on and off the pitch.
Every player who looked at Musiala’s foot afterward put their hands to their heads in shock. Initial estimates indicate that the 23-year-old suffered a double fracture to his shin, meaning he could be out of action for about a year.
Musiala renewed his contract with Bayern Munich a few months ago, and the German club considers him the most important player at the Allianz Arena currently. He was even given the number 10 shirt after Leroy Sané left for Galatasaray a few days ago.
Due to this injury, Musiala’s participation with the German national team in the 2026 World Cup is highly doubtful, with hopes that further tests will reveal that things are not as bad as they appeared when he collapsed on the pitch.
