It’s over… Real Madrid informs its star of his departure

Real Madrid’s management has informed one of its stars of his departure from the team as soon as the 2025 Club World Cup ends.

Famous journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Lucas Vázquez will leave the Santiago Bernabéu at the end of the World Cup.

The right-back’s contract was set to expire at the end of the current season, and he wanted to extend it for another year. However, his performances this season prompted the management to thank him.

The 34-year-old Vázquez’s contract was scheduled to expire on June 30, but the club informed him of the extension for another month, until the club’s participation in the Club World Cup is completed.

Dani Carvajal is working to return to the pitch and participate in the tournament, but even if he recovers, he is unlikely to be a starter. Therefore, Vázquez’s continued presence with Fede Valverde was essential.

Real Madrid will begin their World Cup campaign against Al-Hilal on June 18, followed by matches against Pachuca and Salzburg in Group H.

It’s worth noting that Vázquez has participated in 49 matches in all competitions this season, scoring two goals and providing seven assists.

Vázquez joined Real Madrid in 2007 from the youth teams and progressed to the first team in 2015. Since then, he has played 399 matches, achieving numerous accomplishments, including five Champions League titles.
