It’s over… Ahmed Hassan Kouka will not join Al Ahly

Ahmed Hassan Kouka has finalized an agreement with a club other than Al Ahly, to join them on a free transfer this summer.

Kouka’s name was floated as a potential option to bolster Al Ahly’s attack following the departure of Wissam Abu Ali to Columbus Crew, and negotiations between him and the Red Devils were said to have reached advanced stages.

In recent days, coach Jose Rivero objected to the deal, believing Al Ahly needed a better option, leaving matters in limbo.

Ultimately, the Egyptian international decided to end the controversy. According to Foot Mercato, Kouka will move to Saudi club Al-Ettifaq.

Al-Ettifaq initially sought to sign Luuk de Jong, but the deal fell through at the last minute, prompting the Saudi club to opt for Kouka, who has extensive experience in Portuguese, Greek, and French football.

Kouka’s contract with Le Havre expired at the end of last season, giving him the freedom to move to any club on a free transfer this summer.

The Egyptian international played 16 matches with Le Havre in the second half of last season, scoring 3 goals and providing another assist.
