Mundo Deportivo reported that Barcelona is somewhat close to returning to playing matches at its historic stadium, Camp Nou.
Since last summer, development work has begun on Camp Nou Stadium, which has led to Barça’s matches this season being held at the Luis Companis Olympic Stadium.
According to the report, Barcelona is expected to return to its historic stadium again starting on December 15, 2024, with a capacity of 60% of the stands.
The first goal of Joan Laporta’s administration was to return to Camp Nou on November 29, the anniversary of the stadium’s opening, but the stadium will not be ready then.
The administration is still discussing ticket prices at the end of April after the major development the stadium is witnessing, and the date for returning to play matches there may be officially announced at that time.
Perhaps the return to Camp Nou may herald the possibility of holding a major event to bid farewell to Lionel Messi, especially since the idea had previously appeared in recent months in light of the Argentine’s anger at the way he left his historic club.
