Isak scores a brilliant goal against West Ham

Alexander Isak scored his first Premier League goal for Liverpool in their match against West Ham at the London Stadium.

Isaac joined Liverpool last summer in a record-breaking Premier League transfer from Newcastle for €150 million.

Since then, the Swedish international has struggled with a combination of injuries, a lack of match fitness, and a noticeable dip in form.

Liverpool are going through a difficult period, having lost three consecutive matches for the first time in many years, putting manager Arne Slot’s job under immense pressure.

The Dutch manager included Isak in the starting lineup against West Ham, and the player repaid his manager’s faith.

With the score still 0-0 and things starting to get a bit difficult for Liverpool, Isaac appeared inside the penalty area and, with a brilliant first touch, volleyed the ball into the net, giving the Reds the lead in the 60th minute.

This was Isaac’s second goal for Liverpool, having previously scored in the Carabao Cup for the club.

Cody Gakpo sealed the victory for Liverpool with a second goal in the 92nd minute, giving Slot a temporary reprieve and three points that boosted Liverpool’s Premier League tally.
