The Italian newspaper La Stampa sparked considerable controversy after reporting that Jürgen Klopp had agreed to coach Roma next season, succeeding Claudio Ranieri.
The German coach had refused to return to coaching a few weeks ago after receiving an offer from Real Madrid, preferring to continue his position as CEO of Red Bull Clubs worldwide.
However, the famous Italian newspaper revealed that negotiations had taken place between Roma and Klopp in recent weeks, and that the coach officially agreed to take over as coach of the Giallorossi on Monday.
After the news spread like wildfire, several journalists contacted Klopp’s agent, Mark Kosicki, to find out if his client was on his way to the Italian capital.
Kosicki only responded briefly, stating that the reports were completely false and that Klopp was continuing his position with Red Bull and was very happy there.
German media had previously confirmed that Klopp did not intend to return to coaching until after the 2026 World Cup, and that the idea of coaching clubs currently displeased him due to the pressures.
