Brahim’s absence comes despite his good appearance during the preparation period and scoring the winning goal against Deportivo La Coruña, which raised questions about his position in the Portuguese coach’s calculations for the new season.

However, journalist Ben Fernandez confirmed that the situation has not changed, that Brahim is not thinking about leaving Real Madrid, and that the management has not informed him of the need to look for a new team before the transfer market closes.

The 27-year-old enjoys Mourinho’s trust and if there was a real desire for him to leave, he would have already begun to study the offers that have come to him, but the option of selling or loaning has not been raised in the first place.

Brahim is adamant about staying and fighting for his position, knowing that his absence against Espanyol does not mean that he is out of the calculations, especially with Real Madrid needing a large list to compete in four championships.

The attacking competition looks fierce with Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr., along with Jude Bellingham, Arda Güler, Yan Diomande, Rodrygo and Endrick, as well as Carlos Espi, who scored the winning goal against Espanyol.

During the 2024-2025 season, Brahim participated in 56 matches in all competitions, during which he scored 6 goals and provided 7 assists, for a total of 2290 minutes, but he relied heavily on his participation as a substitute.

His figures in the 2025-2026 season have dropped to 2 goals and 5 assists in 42 games and 1665 minutes, bringing his total in the last two seasons to 98 appearances, 8 goals and 12 assists, which he seeks to improve without leaving Real Madrid.
