Inzaghi urges Al-Hilal to sign Liverpool star

Conflicting reports have emerged in the Saudi press in recent hours regarding the identity of the striker Al-Hilal will attempt to sign to replace Aleksandar Mitrovic at the Blue Wave.

The Saudi newspaper “Al-Riyadhiyah” revealed that Newcastle United star Alexander Isak is Al-Hilal’s current top target, but a deal is unlikely at the moment due to the Swedish star’s high financial demands.

Isak, who has already informed Newcastle’s management of his desire to leave, is said to have requested €60 million per year from Al-Hilal, in addition to other benefits. Al-Zaeem officials deemed these figures exaggerated.

Al-Hilal has set its sights on another Premier League star, specifically Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez, although Simone Inzaghi’s position on signing the Uruguayan international remains unknown.

Al-Youm newspaper reported that Inzaghi has yet to express his acceptance or rejection of Nunez’s idea, while Al-Riyadh newspaper reported that the coach was the one who asked Al-Hilal’s management to sign the Liverpool star after hopes of a deal for Isak faded.

Personal terms with Nunez would not be an obstacle to his transfer to Al-Hilal, and Liverpool would welcome his sale to raise some money in light of the English club’s historic transfer window, during which they have spent more than €200 million to date.

Al-Hilal is preparing to submit an offer worth between €60 and €80 million to Liverpool, while Mitrovic would be released at the same time. Mitrovic has received offers from England, and the management has set a sale price of only €15 million.

It is worth noting that Nunez was close to joining Napoli in recent weeks, but Liverpool’s excessive financial demands, coupled with the player’s high salary, prompted coach Antonio Conte to abandon the deal.
