Al-Riyadh newspaper confirmed that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will become Al Hilal’s coach for the 2025 Club World Cup.
Al Hilal has been negotiating with Inzaghi to succeed Jorge Jesus for some time, but the coach postponed making his final decision until the end of the season with Inter.
Ultimately, after a 0-0 season, Inzaghi decided to accept the Saudi offer, which will make him one of the highest-paid coaches in the world.
According to reports, Inzaghi’s annual salary will be around €25 million, earning approximately €50 million over the course of his two-year contract with Al Hilal.
Inzaghi’s first task will be leading the Blue Wave in the Club World Cup, and his first match will be a very difficult one against Real Madrid.
Inzaghi has been coaching Inter for four years, during which he won the Italian League title once and reached the Champions League final twice.
Inter have yet to name a successor at the San Siro, and president Beppe Marotta still holds out hope that Inzaghi’s position will change and he will stay on for at least another year.
