Bodø/Glimt pulled off a major upset in the Champions League Round of 16 playoffs, defeating Inter Milan 3-1 in the first leg in Norway.
Sondri Fiete opened the scoring for Bodø/Glimt in the 20th minute, before Esposito equalized for Inter in the 30th minute. In the second half, Jens Peter and Kasper Hauge scored twice for the home side.
Bodø/Glimt has made a habit of upsetting big teams in the Champions League this season.
During the league campaign, the Norwegian club defeated Manchester City 3-1 and Atlético Madrid 2-1, drew with Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham 2-2, and narrowly lost to Juventus 3-2.
Bodo Glimt continued his impressive run against Europe’s elite, knocking out Serie A leaders and last season’s runners-up, Inter Milan, who will now need to win by three goals at the San Siro to reach the round of 16.
While Inter fans may be disappointed by the European defeat, the Nerazzurri received some good news from Serie A.
AC Milan drew 1-1 with Como in a rescheduled match, leaving Inter seven points clear at the top of the table after 25 rounds of Serie A.
