Inter Milan moved within touching distance of the Serie A title after a thrilling 4-3 victory over Como in Matchday 32 at the Giuseppe Siniglia Stadium.
This match was crucial in the title race, and reigning champions Napoli were undoubtedly hoping for an Inter slip-up after their 1-1 draw with Parma earlier in the day.
Inter and Como had previously played to a goalless draw in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final, with the return leg scheduled for April 21.
Como took a two-goal lead within the first 45 minutes, before Thuram pulled one back just before halftime and then leveled the score in the 49th minute.
Denzel Dumfries scored twice in the 58th and 72nd minutes, but Lucas Da Cunha gave Cesc Fabregas’s side hope with an 89th-minute penalty.
Ramon missed a golden opportunity for Como in the dying moments, a miss that may have gifted Inter the title of “football paradise.”
The gap between Inter and Napoli widened to nine points, with the Nerazzurri reaching 75 points, while Como remained stuck on 58 points in fifth place, two points behind fourth-placed Juventus and five behind third-placed Milan.
