In just 20 minutes, Liverpool’s signings score twice against Crystal Palace

Liverpool’s summer signings took just five minutes to make their mark in the Reds’ first official match of the new season against Crystal Palace in the Community Shield.

The match at Wembley Stadium featured a brilliant pass from Florian Wirtz from the edge of the penalty area to Hugo Ekitike, who unleashed a superb low shot to give his team the lead.

This goal undoubtedly demonstrates the strength of Liverpool’s summer moves, especially given the huge sums paid for the two players.

After Crystal Palace equalized, another new signing, Jeremie Frimpong, scored Liverpool’s second goal with a surprising cross past Henderson.

Wirtz, who provided the assist, is the most expensive player in Premier League history, having joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen for €150 million.

As for Ekitike, the goal scorer, Liverpool paid approximately €95 million to sign him.

It’s worth noting that the match will also feature Milos Kerkez, Liverpool’s new left-back, who signed for €45 million from Bournemouth, and right-back Frimpong, who cost the English club approximately €40 million from Leverkusen.
