Imam Ashour’s father denies his son’s rebellion against Al Ahly

Imam Ashour’s father denied reports circulating about his son’s rebellion against Al Ahly in order to be allowed to leave for the American league in the coming period.

Ashour was absent from the trip to Tanzania to participate in the CAF Champions League match against Young Africans, leading Al Ahly’s management to impose a hefty fine of 1.5 million Egyptian pounds on him, along with a two-week period of individual training.

Ashour also failed to attend Al Ahly’s training session on Friday, further fueling speculation about a deliberate “rebellion” by the player to force Al Ahly to put him up for sale or begin negotiations to renew his contract.

In statements to Kora Plus, Imam Ashour’s father responded to all of this, confirming that his son is suffering from a severe cold, which prevented him from traveling and participating in Friday’s training session.

He added, “The whole family is suffering from a cold and we can’t leave the house. Imam had a fever and a runny nose after the Wadi Degla match, and he informed Al Ahly’s management of this.”

He added, “If he recovers tomorrow, he will go to individual training as scheduled by Al Ahly. We are not feigning illness.”

He concluded, “There are no offers; this is untrue. We are at Al Ahly, and Emam’s contract is still valid until the summer of 2028.”

Egyptian media had indicated that Emam Ashour wanted to improve his contract with Al Ahly to receive a salary similar to that of Ahmed Sayed Zizo and Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, which is approximately 100 million Egyptian pounds annually.
