Igor Tudor to leave Tottenham; two names considered as his replacement

TeamTalk has revealed that Igor Tudor will leave his position as Tottenham manager by mutual consent, after the Spurs board decided to make an urgent managerial change in the hope of avoiding relegation from the Premier League.

Tudor failed to secure a single Premier League victory since taking charge last February, a run that left Spurs in a precarious position, just one point above the relegation zone, ultimately forcing the board to take decisive action.

As previously reported, Tottenham had been seriously considering replacing Tudor for several weeks, and sources revealed that the key decision point was reached just before their match against Nottingham Forest.

Before the game, it was agreed internally that a defeat in that match would lead to a managerial change – a line that was crossed after their 3-0 loss to Vitor Pereira’s side.

However, the situation is not solely based on tactical performance; Sources indicate that Tudor himself is prepared to leave following the recent death of his father, Mario, and it is believed that both parties have now agreed to a mutual separation.

Regarding Tudor’s successor, Tottenham have identified two names to take over on an interim basis: former Monaco manager Adi Hutter and former Tottenham defender Chris Hughton.

Hughton is perhaps the more logical choice at present, having previously served as interim manager at Tottenham on three separate occasions and possessing extensive Premier League experience.

At the end of the season, Tottenham will look for a permanent replacement, with Roberto De Zerbi being the top choice for the London club’s management, alongside long-serving Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino.
