Liverpool have reached a final agreement with Bayer Leverkusen to purchase Florian Wirtz, a deal that will be a record-breaking fee.

Leverkusen initially wanted £125 million, and complex negotiations ensued, but Liverpool officials were successful.
The English club will pay a fixed fee of £100 million in the final stages, plus £16 million in performance-related add-ons and bonuses, bringing the total value of the deal to €137 million.
This is Liverpool’s first transfer to exceed the €100 million mark, and it also surpasses Enzo Fernandez’s transfer from Benfica to Chelsea, officially becoming the most expensive transfer in English history.
All that remains for Wirtz to complete his move to Liverpool is for him to undergo a medical and sign the contract, which should happen next week.
