The Athletic has revealed that Harry Kane will remain with Bayern Munich and will not activate the release clause in his contract to leave the Bavarian club next summer.
Kane’s contract contains a relatively low release clause of just €65 million, which would be activated in the upcoming summer transfer window, amidst significant interest from several European clubs, most notably Barcelona.
According to the report, the only way to activate this release clause is to inform Bayern Munich by the end of January at the latest that the player intends to leave.
Ultimately, Harry Kane is very happy at the Allianz Arena and feels comfortable both professionally and personally. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that he will inform the club before the end of January that he intends to activate the release clause.
Thus, any club wishing to sign Kane will have to negotiate with Bayern Munich next summer, making a transfer practically impossible given the Bavarian club’s firm refusal to discuss the departure of the 32-year-old.
There is also the possibility of Kane renewing his contract in the coming months, although the player prefers to postpone this until the end of the season or after the 2026 World Cup.
It is worth noting that the England international made statements a few days ago in which he also ruled out leaving Bayern Munich, confirming that he is happy in southern Germany.
