Hamza Abdel Karim has yet to make an official appearance for Barcelona B, raising questions about his future with the Catalan club even before he has started.
The Egyptian star joined Barcelona on loan last January from Al Ahly, with a contract extending until the end of the season and an optional purchase option – except in certain circumstances – for next summer.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the 18-year-old has had to return to Egypt to finalize some legal procedures in the hope of expediting the necessary permits to play for Barcelona B.
Hamza is waiting for a work permit to begin his Barcelona career, and therefore his club cannot yet set a date for his debut, which depends entirely on bureaucratic procedures that appear extremely complex at this stage.
Barcelona officials are very confident in the talented Egyptian’s abilities, and the Catalan club is working hard to resolve this matter quickly, especially since the reserve team desperately needs his skills.
So far, Abdul Karim has looked very good in Barcelona’s training sessions, which suggests that once the paperwork is completed, he will appear in matches in the Spanish third division.
