The match between Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Super Cup final witnessed an unfortunate incident, after a fan attacked Abdul Razzaq Hamdallah with a whip.
Al-Hilal had repeated its victory over Al-Ittihad for the sixth time this season, and won 4-1, with Hamdallah scoring the only goal for coach Marcelo Gallardo’s squad.
After the match, Hamdallah appeared arguing with a fan in the stands, then sprayed the fan with water, before a completely unexpected reaction occurred.
This fan took out a whip from his clothes and attacked Hamdallah with it. The Moroccan tried to reach the stands and respond to him, but many people intervened to save the situation.

Hours after the incident, the police of the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, arrested the perpetrator of the incident, but Hamdallah later dropped the report.
The surprise is that although Hamdallah was the one who was beaten, he is facing a suspension penalty from the Saudi Football Association, as the media confirms.
If the referee notes this incident in his report, Hamdallah will be considered to have engaged in “disgraceful behavior,” as a result of which he will be suspended for at least two matches and fined at least 20,000 riyals.
