Erling Haaland continues to set remarkable records, and his latest achievement came after scoring two goals in Manchester City’s 3-0 win over Manchester United in the English Premier League.
Haaland has already reached his preferred position as the Premier League’s top scorer after five rounds, having scored five goals, two goals ahead of the closest pursuer, Arsenal striker Viktor Gjokers.
This was Haaland’s 90th goal in the Premier League, surpassing the legendary Didier Drogba, who scored 88 goals for Chelsea despite appearing in 153 fewer matches.
The Norwegian international has contributed to 11 goals in the Manchester derby, surpassing United legend Wayne Rooney, who contributed nine goals, despite Rooney having played 21 more derbies than Haaland!
It’s worth noting that this brace brought Haaland’s tally at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City’s home ground, to 50 goals in 50 appearances, surpassed only by Alan Shearer, who scored 50 goals at Newcastle in just 47 appearances.
