Haaland Scores Twice at Burnley, Easing Ahead of Premier League Top Scorers

Erling Haaland moved further clear at the top of the Premier League scoring charts after scoring twice in Manchester City’s 5-1 win over Burnley on Saturday.

The match between City and Burnley was not without its share of strange incidents, as Burnley defender Maxime Esteve scored two own goals in City’s five-goal thriller.

Although Haaland went 90 minutes without scoring, he came back strongly in the final five minutes, scoring twice.

The Norwegian international has now scored his 15th goal of the season, both for his country and Manchester City, in nine appearances in all competitions.

In the Premier League, Haaland has now scored eight goals in just six games, and the 24-year-old appears determined to reclaim the Golden Boot that Mohamed Salah won last season.

Haaland is now four goals behind his closest pursuers in the Premier League’s top scorers list, Igor Thiago (Brentford), Jadon Anthony (Burnley), and Antonio Semenyo (Bournemouth). Arsenal’s Victor Gjokeres follows with three goals, matching Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitike’s tally.
