Manchester City continues its tireless work to rebuild its squad for next season, and according to Fabrizio Romano, the English club’s officials have made two significant offers for two of Europe’s most important midfielders.
Kevin De Bruyne left City at the end of his contract, and Bernardo Silva suffered a significant decline last season, leaving Pep Guardiola in need of at least two new midfielders.
According to Romano, City’s management has sent an official offer to Milan for Tijani Reynders, and negotiations between the two parties are ongoing and positive so far.
The English club is willing to submit an offer of €60 million plus add-ons, but Milan is aiming for a higher amount and is exploiting the fact that City has long considered Reynders its primary target.
Meanwhile, City is in negotiations with Lyon to sign Rayan Cherki.
The French international’s deal won’t be expensive for City, as his release clause with Lyon is only €25 million.
Sharqi is currently Pep Guardiola’s first choice, followed by Nottingham Forest star Gibbs-White, but the latter won’t leave the City Ground for less than €80 million.
