Guardiola Reveals Rodri’s Return Date for Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Rodri will miss next week’s matches against Villarreal and Aston Villa due to his not yet fully recovering from an injury.

The Spanish star sustained the injury against Brentford days before the international break and was diagnosed with a hamstring injury. Manchester City declined to specify an exact date for the player’s return.

Guardiola spoke to the English media after the victory over Everton about when Rodri would be back with his team. He said, “I don’t think he will be able to play against Aston Villa and Villarreal.”

He added, “Rodri won’t be out for long, but he has a muscle injury and we have to be careful not to let it get worse and he misses again.”

He concluded, “We tried many times not to risk him, but we couldn’t. Now we want to avoid it. Let’s wait and see what happens.”

According to Guardiola, if all goes as planned, Rodri could be fit for the Bournemouth match on November 2, before City face Swansea City in the Carabao Cup.
