Barcelona defeated Manchester City on penalties in a friendly match after a 2-2 draw in regular time at Camping World Stadium.
City manager Pep Guardiola said after the match, “I liked the way Barcelona played, the wingers were playing very well and the midfielders were arriving in the duels.”
Regarding the defeat, he said, “Our goal in the US tour is to return without injuries and build the team, and of course, playing against big teams will be beneficial for our young players.”
Meanwhile, Barcelona coach Hansi Flick said of the win, “I am proud of the young Barcelona players, we also had a great goalkeeper who played a crucial role in the penalty shootout.”
He added, “I don’t like to talk about a specific player, we are a team, we want to be a team that fights and gives everything it has.”
He concluded, “This is Barcelona, we want to build something like what Pep Guardiola built at Manchester City.”
It is worth mentioning that Barcelona will face Real Madrid on Sunday morning, then play friendlies against Milan and Monaco before starting their season with a match against Valencia at Mestalla on August 17 in La Liga.
