The problem of overdue dues for Zamalek football players is on the way to being resolved, thanks to the intervention of Vice Chairman Hisham Nasr.
Zamalek has been experiencing significant financial distress over the past month following the Egyptian Ministry of Housing’s decision to revoke the 6th of October City stadium’s land and the resulting dire economic consequences.
Zamalek players have complained about not receiving their dues for quite some time, with repeated promises from the club’s management to resolve the matter, without success.
According to Egyptian media reports, Hisham Nasr loaned Zamalek EGP 25 million to resolve the dues crisis, albeit temporarily.
Thus, the overdue dues are expected to be disbursed by Thursday morning, bringing the football team’s crisis to a temporary end.
Zamalek is currently working to find various solutions to the financial crisis. The 6th of October Stadium crisis is reportedly on its way to being resolved, according to former club president Mamdouh Abbas.
Zamalek is currently preparing for its final match before the international break, against Ghazl El Mahalla, which is expected to determine the fate of coach Yannick Ferreira. A loss could lead to his immediate dismissal.
