Viktor Gyökeres scored a truly remarkable goal for Arsenal in a friendly match against Athletic Bilbao at the Emirates Stadium.
Gyökeres has played several friendly matches for Arsenal over the past two weeks, but has failed to score. He has faced criticism for his performances, with some suggesting he may not be suited to the Gunners’ style.
However, it seems the Swedish international has decided to respond to his critics in the best possible way, heading in a brilliant cross from fellow Arsenal signing Martin Zubimendi into the Bilbao net in a way that only the most accomplished strikers can achieve.
This was Gyökeres’ first goal for Arsenal, and it generated a huge response on social media, as well as a celebration from the fans at the Emirates Stadium.

The Bilbao friendly will be Arsenal’s final match before the start of the new season, as Mikel Arteta’s side kick off the Premier League season with a heated match against Manchester United on Sunday, August 17, at Old Trafford.
It’s worth noting that Gyökeres joined Arsenal after lengthy negotiations with Sporting Lisbon, for a total fee of €75 million.
