Getafe coach José Bordelás considered the refereeing to have helped Real Madrid win against his team, revealing what happened between him, Vinicius Junior, and Jude Bellingham during the match, which Real Madrid won thanks to a goal by Kylian Mbappé.
The referee sent off Allan Nyom less than 30 seconds after coming onto the pitch for a controversial tackle on Vinicius. Minutes later, Mbappé scored the winning goal for Real Madrid, and the referee then sent off another Getafe player in the 85th minute.
After the match, Bordelás spoke about these events, saying, “Vinicius put his hand to his face, as if he had been attacked. For me, it’s not a red card; it can hardly be considered a yellow card.”
He added, “No one explained anything to me because VAR didn’t intervene. The referee saw it was a red card and didn’t review the footage. It all started with Kiko’s yellow card for a foul on Vinicius that wasn’t there, and I had to make a substitution. This is what usually happens in these games.”
He continued, “We certainly feel unfair against the big teams. I’m not attacking anyone, but similar mistakes in the first half weren’t given as yellow cards.”
Regarding what happened between him, Vinicius, and Bellingham, the Spanish coach said, “He came over to me and said, ‘Great substitution.’ Then Bellingham came over to say something to me, and I told him to focus on the game and not talk too much.”
