Football seems to be witnessing another great talent at a very young age after the emergence of Lamine Yamal at Barcelona. We’re talking here about Lennart Karl, the Bayern Munich star, who is only 17 years old.
In recent weeks, Karl has been clearly brilliant, securing a place in Vincent Kompany’s squad. He continued his brilliance on Saturday with a goal that can only be described as nothing short of miraculous against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Karl had scored against Club Brugge last Wednesday in the Champions League, becoming the youngest player in German and Bayern Munich history to score for the “Big Ears.”
On Saturday, Bayern were leading 2-0 at Borussia Park when Kompany brought on Karl for Luis Diaz in the 76th minute. Just five minutes later, the promising star unleashed an unstoppable left-footed shot from outside the penalty area, which Gladbach’s goalkeeper simply watched as it went into the net.

This was Karl’s first Bundesliga goal, having already assisted one earlier this season. It was his second goal overall in all competitions, after his goal against Club Brugge.
If he continues this form, Karl will almost certainly be called up to the German national team for the next international break, following in the footsteps of Lamine Yamal with Spain and Barcelona, establishing himself early on as one of the world’s most important players.
