After three rounds, Atletico are winless, with just two points to occupy 14th place in La Liga.
Atlético Madrid spent €175 million this summer, yet they have failed to deliver entertaining attacking football or even achieve victories, sparking a storm of attacks that has become commonplace in recent years against coach Diego Simeone.
The capital club’s management remains committed to Simeone, who has been in charge since 2011, but the continuation of these results may raise the question of whether the Argentine’s career at Atlético will end.
