Manchester United needed just 62 seconds to score the first goal against Liverpool in their eighth round Premier League match at Anfield.
Bryan Mbeumo capitalized on a brilliant pass from Amad Diallo to get one-on-one with the Liverpool goalkeeper, unleashing a powerful shot that beat goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili and gave the Red Devils an early lead.
Mbeumo’s goal became the fastest ever scored in a Premier League match between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield.
Meanwhile, this is only the second time in the history of Liverpool and Manchester United Premier League matches that two goals have been scored in the first two minutes, the first being Nicky Butt for United at Old Trafford in October 1995.
With this goal, Mbeumo also became the player with the most involvement in away goals in the Premier League in the entire calendar year of 2025, scoring seven goals and assisting four others.
