The German newspaper Bild revealed that Liverpool has found its man to replace Mohamed Salah next summer and wants to sign a promising Bundesliga star who won’t cost the Reds much.
The “Egyptian King” announced his departure from Liverpool at the end of the current season after agreeing with the club to mutually terminate his contract, which was set to run until the summer of 2027.
Since then, Liverpool has been linked with several names to bolster the right wing position, most notably Bayern Munich’s Michael Olsson and RB Leipzig’s talented Yann Diomande.
The latest name to emerge on the Reds’ shortlist is Hoffenheim’s 20-year-old Ivorian winger, Bazoumana Touré, who has had one of the Bundesliga’s standout seasons this year.
According to the report, Liverpool has been regularly monitoring the left-footed player, with club scouts attending his matches frequently in the last two months, most recently the Ivory Coast vs. Scotland match during the last international break, which was played at Everton’s stadium.
What attracts Liverpool to signing Touré, besides his technical abilities, is that the deal wouldn’t cost the club more than €40 million, unlike deals for players like Ulreich or Diomande, which could exceed €100 million.
It’s worth noting that Touré’s contract with Hoffenheim runs until the summer of 2029 and doesn’t include a release clause. Therefore, the only way to acquire him would be through negotiations with the German club, who are open to selling him for a substantial fee.
