Flick Repeats Guardiola’s Legendary Achievement Against Real Madrid

Hansi Flick repeated Pep Guardiola’s monumental achievement as Barcelona coach, specifically in El Clásico against Real Madrid.

Barça won 4-3 over the Los Blancos in Round 35 of La Liga, effectively clinching the league title for the Catalan club for the 28th time in its history.

This victory marked Flick’s fourth consecutive victory over Real Madrid this season, following a 4-0 win at the Santiago Bernabéu in the first round, followed by a 5-2 victory in the Spanish Super Cup final and a 3-2 victory in the Copa del Rey final.

Guardiola is the only coach in Barcelona’s history to win his first four El Clásicos against Real Madrid, and now Flick shares this huge achievement with him.

However, Flick’s advantage is that he managed to achieve all four wins in a single season, while Guardiola needed two seasons, with only La Liga matches, to surpass Los Blancos. During Guardiola’s golden era, Barcelona scored only 11 goals in the first four Clásicos against Real Madrid. Under Flick, the Blaugrana’s stars scored 16 goals, demonstrating the German coach’s tremendous influence, even though the current generation appears far inferior to those of Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, and other legends.

It should be noted that Guardiola still holds the record for most wins against Real Madrid since taking over, having won his first five Clásicos and suffered his first defeat after seven matches, specifically in the 2010 Copa del Rey final in Valencia.
