Flick Announces Plan for Lewandowski Against Inter and Real Madrid

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick announced that Robert Lewandowski has recovered from his injury and is fully fit to play against Inter in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final.

Barcelona will play Inter on Tuesday in a crucial match at the San Siro, then host Real Madrid at the Estadio Olimpico Lluís Companys on Sunday in another crucial La Liga match.

In the press conference before the Inter match, Flick confirmed that the Polish international could start against the Nerazzurri, but the German had a different opinion.

Flick said, “Lewandowski is ready to play, but I think it would be better if he started on the bench and played in the second half.”

He added, “After that, we will see if he is able to start against Real Madrid.”

He continued, speaking about the important match against Inter, “Inter is a strong and experienced team. They took advantage of their opportunities well in the last match, and tomorrow everyone has to be committed defensively. That’s important. We have to close down the spaces they play in. That’s our mission tomorrow.”

He concluded, “We’re now in the Champions League semi-finals, and we have to enjoy this, enjoy playing with each other, and show everyone how great we are. That’s the size of the opponent you face in this round, and we have to be ready.”
