Flamengo easily defeats Pyramids and sets up a clash with Paris Saint-Germain

Pyramids’ adventure in the 2025 Intercontinental Cup came to an end in the semi-finals after a 2-0 loss to Flamengo.

The match, played at the Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium, was decided by two set pieces for the Brazilian club.

The first goal came in the 24th minute with a header from Leo Pereira, followed by a second goal from veteran Danilo in the 52nd minute.

Pyramids had previously defeated Auckland City 3-0 in the first round and then Al-Ahli Saudi 3-1 in Jeddah in the quarter-finals.

Flamengo, meanwhile, triumphed in the Derby of the Americas against Cruz Azul, reaching the final for the first time in the history of South American teams.

The Brazilian club will now face European champions Paris Saint-Germain in the final next Wednesday at the Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium.

Real Madrid are the current holders of the title, having won the previous edition, also held in Qatar, against Pachuca of Mexico 1-0.
