Finally… Sunderland ends Arsenal’s historic clean sheet streak

Sunderland succeeded where eight other clubs had failed: scoring against Arsenal in their match at the Stadium of Light during the eleventh round of the English Premier League.

The last goal scored against Arsenal dates back to September 28th, specifically in a match against Newcastle, by Nick Foltmadge.

Since then, Arsenal played eight matches against Olympiacos, West Ham, Fulham, Atlético Madrid, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Burnley, and Slavia Prague, and none of them managed to breach goalkeeper David Raya’s net.

But after 812 minutes without conceding a goal, this remarkable streak came to an end thanks to Sunderland’s star player, Daniel Ballard, with a shot from inside the penalty area that found the back of Raya’s net, giving the home side the lead.

This is undoubtedly a significant moment this season, and overall, it’s only the fourth goal Arsenal have conceded in all competitions so far.

We leave you with the moment the London club’s resistance was broken by the Black Cats’ star player…
