Emery responds to rumors linking him to Real Madrid

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery responded diplomatically to reports linking him to the permanent Real Madrid job next season.

Emery has emerged as a strong candidate for the Real Madrid job recently, especially after the decision was made not to continue as manager of Real Madrid at the end of this season.

When asked about these rumors at the pre-match press conference before Aston Villa’s game against Brentford, Emery simply replied, “I have no comment on that.”

This response perhaps confirms the reports of negotiations between Real Madrid and Emery. If he hadn’t considered the move, he would have confirmed that he would remain with Aston Villa next season and wasn’t considering any other offers.

Emery’s comments come days after reports in the English press that he had informed Aston Villa’s management that he would be leaving Villa Park at the end of the current season to seek a new challenge.

Aston Villa are third in the Premier League standings this season with 46 points, level with second-placed Manchester City, and just 4 points behind leaders Arsenal.
