Al Ahly star Emam Ashour received a substantial offer from the Saudi League this summer, making his departure likely. The reason behind this is the large salary offered to him.
According to Egyptian press reports, Al-Akhdoud Club offered Emam Ashour more than double his current salary with Al Ahly, a significant temptation for the 27-year-old.
Al Ahly was informed, through Ashour’s agent, that Al-Akhdoud Club had made this substantial offer to the player, hoping that Mahmoud El Khatib’s management would agree or work to amend his current contract to match the substantial financial offer.
According to an informed source within Al Ahly, the Egyptian club has not received any official offer from Al-Akhdoud Club yet, and once it arrives, it will be rejected, as the club maintains its commitment to the core team.
Meanwhile, Al-Ahly intends to enter into negotiations with Emam Ashour to adjust his salary and renew his contract until 2029. He will receive a salary that will make him one of the highest-paid players at the club, equal to Ahmed Sayed Zizo and Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet.
Emam will not participate with Al-Ahly at the start of the new season due to undergoing collarbone surgery, which will require two months of recovery and a return to the field.
