El Khatib Shocks Trezeguet and Doubles His Penalty!

Egyptian media reported that Al Ahly president Mahmoud El Khatib decided to double Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet’s penalty due to the incidents in the Inter Miami match.

Trezeguet had insisted on taking a penalty kick awarded to Al Ahly in the first half, following an argument between him and the duo Wissam Abu Ali and Ahmed Sayed Zizo.

Earlier, Egyptian newspapers reported that Trezeguet apologized to the management and players, while he was fined 250,000 Egyptian pounds for violating the rules and not adhering to the penalty taker hierarchy.

However, a call from Mahmoud El Khatib from Egypt quadrupled this fine, with the president deciding to fine Trezeguet 1 million Egyptian pounds.

El Khatib wants to emphasize the need to enforce discipline and respect the coach and his decisions, and he believes that Trezeguet’s role as Al Ahly’s second-in-command increases the magnitude and significance of the grave mistake he made.

Trezeguet is not expected to object or express anger over the severe penalty, especially since he has already admitted to committing a serious error, with the club’s management assuring him that even if he had scored the penalty, he would still have been punished.

It’s worth noting that Al-Ahly drew 0-0 with Inter Miami and faces an exciting match against Palmeiras on Thursday. A victory would greatly increase their chances of advancing to the round of 16.
