The Brazilian Football Confederation has confirmed that the Brazilian national team will play a friendly match against Egypt a few days before the start of the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Pharaohs will be Brazil’s final opponent before the World Cup, a logical choice as coach Carlo Ancelotti seeks to face an Arab-African team in preparation for their group stage match against Morocco.
According to the official announcement, the Egypt-Brazil friendly will take place on June 6th at Huntington Bank Stadium in Cleveland. Ticket sales will begin on February 26th.
Throughout history, Egypt and Brazil have met six times since their first encounter in 1960, with Brazil dominating all six matches.
The most famous encounter between Egypt and Brazil was a 4-3 draw in the group stage of the 2009 Confederations Cup in South Africa. Their most recent match was in Qatar in 2011, which Brazil won 2-0.
Brazil was drawn in Group G alongside Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland, while Egypt will face Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand.
