The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) will receive a substantial financial reward from CAF after the Egyptian national team qualified for the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Pharaohs defeated Ivory Coast 3-2 to advance to the semi-finals, where they face a tough and complex challenge against Senegal in Tangier.
According to Egyptian media reports, the CAF reward for reaching the semi-finals is $2.5 million, equivalent to approximately 120 million Egyptian pounds.
This reward is likely to increase if Egypt reaches the final. Winning the title would raise the prize money to $10 million, while finishing second would earn the Egyptians $7 million.
The EFA’s coffers have been experiencing a significant boost recently, with an additional $10 million expected from the national team’s participation in the 2026 World Cup.
It is worth noting that Egypt has not won the Africa Cup of Nations since the 2010 Angola edition. Since then, they have reached the final twice, against Cameroon in 2017 and Senegal in 2021, and lost both matches.
