Egypt national team manager Hossam Hassan has expressed his immense joy following the Pharaohs’ victory over Australia at the 2026 World Cup, dedicated this landmark triumph to the resilient Palestinian people.
Egypt advanced to the World Cup knockout rounds for the first time in their history after defeating Australia in a tense penalty shootout at the Dallas stadium.
Speaking to the media after the match, Hossam Hassan said: “My heart and soul are with the Palestinian people; I thank them and dedicate this victory to them.” He added: “We succeeded in making the Arabs proud, and we are an integral part of them.”
He continued: “May God bless us for the sake of the good people of Egypt. I deeply wished for us to win to bring joy to these kind-hearted people.”
Following the final whistle, television cameras captured emotional footage of Hossam Hassan proudly raising the Palestinian flag alongside the Egyptian flag.
