Due to Tebas’s intransigence, a major crisis erupted between Real Madrid and La Liga!

A crisis erupted very early between Real Madrid’s management and La Liga, due to the 2025 Club World Cup.

Real Madrid submitted a request to La Liga to postpone the opening match against Osasuna, to give the players more time to rest and prepare for the new season after participating in the World Cup in the United States.

However, La Liga, under direct instructions from its president, Javier Tebas, rejected the Madrid proposal and only postponed the match by 48 hours, bringing it to the end of the first round, angering Florentino Pérez’s administration.

According to Cadena Cope, Real Madrid filed a new objection to the league regarding the date of the match, scheduled for August 19, believing that this date undermines Xabi Alonso’s squad’s efforts to reach the required physical fitness before the start of the long new season.

Real Madrid’s management took a parallel step, communicating with the Spanish Footballers’ Association (AFE), to pressure La Liga to postpone the match, arguing that holding it on this date would threaten the safety of the Los Blancos’ players.

If Real Madrid reaches the Club World Cup final, the team would have a break from July 14 to August 5, and then begin its preparations less than two weeks after the opening match against Osasuna. This is illogical and poses a threat to the players’ health.

So far, La Liga has been extremely stubborn and has no intention of changing the date. This is part of Tebas’s own pressure on FIFA to cancel the Club World Cup, having deemed the tournament a “waste of time and effort for the players” and a threat to their safety due to the intense physical pressure.
