Many questions have been raised about Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembélé’s fitness for the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Arsenal following his recent injury.
The French international was unable to complete the first leg at the Emirates Stadium and left the game with a sprained ankle. Coach Luis Enrique then sparked controversy over the injury, hinting it could be serious.
Dembélé is fine and not injured
L’Equipe confirmed that Dembélé is not suffering from any injury and did not undergo medical tests upon the PSG team’s return to Paris on Wednesday.
According to Radio Monte Carlo, the player will undergo tests on Thursday to assess his condition, but initially there are no concerns in Paris about him, and he is expected to participate in team training without any problems.
Dembélé is also expected to be fit for the Ligue 1 match against Strasbourg, scheduled for next Saturday.
However, Enrique is expected to rest his first-team star or bring him on as a substitute against Strasbourg, giving him some rest ahead of the upcoming match against Arsenal.
Dembélé’s Contributions This Season
Dembélé is a candidate to win the Ballon d’Or after his remarkable explosion since the beginning of 2025.
The 25-year-old has played 45 matches for Paris Saint-Germain in all competitions this season, scoring 33 goals and providing 12 assists.
In the Champions League, Dembélé has scored 8 goals and provided 3 assists, with his most recent contribution being the winning goal against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
