Liverpool had lost the first leg 2-0 at the Parc des Princes, a match in which the Reds failed to register a single shot on target against Luis Enrique’s men.

In the second leg, manager Arne Slott continued his decision to leave Mohamed Salah out of the starting lineup, and once again, this proved insufficient to secure victory.

Hugo Ekitiki suffered a serious injury in the first half, which appears likely to rule him out of the 2026 World Cup and sideline him for an extended period. The “Egyptian King” replaced him.

In the second half, Liverpool offered little of note, until Ousmane Dembélé’s goal in the 72nd minute effectively ended their hopes. Dembélé then added a second goal in the 91st minute.

This defeat effectively ended Liverpool’s title aspirations for the season, leaving them without silverware after their elimination from the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, and a fifth-place finish in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain, under Luis Enrique, continue their title defense and will await the winner of the Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich match in the semi-finals.
