De Bruyne Rules Out of 2025 Club World Cup with City

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne has sparked controversy regarding the possibility of him not participating with his English club in the 2025 Club World Cup, indicating that there have been no discussions with the club’s management on this matter yet.

City announced that it would not renew the Belgian international’s contract, which expires on June 30, bringing an end to the player’s legendary nine-year career at the Etihad Stadium.

It was expected that De Bruyne would participate in the Club World Cup and then move to his new club. He has had various offers from the United States, and recently, the possibility of him continuing in the Premier League has increased.

When asked about participating in the tournament, De Bruyne responded, “I don’t know what will happen. I haven’t spoken to the club about it yet.”

He added, “If they want to talk about it, I’m ready, but I’m not sure about it (participating in the tournament).”

City will begin their campaign against Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca on June 18, then face Al Ain of the UAE on June 23, before concluding the group with a match against Juventus on June 26.
