Cristiano Ronaldo urged Al-Nassr players to continue their hard work after their elimination from the Saudi King’s Cup in the Round of 16 at the hands of Al-Ittihad.
The Portuguese star participated in the Saudi Clasico at Al-Ahli Park, where Al-Ittihad, playing with ten men, overcame Al-Nassr to advance to the quarterfinals. This marked the fourth consecutive year that Ronaldo has failed to win the “most prestigious cup” (King’s Cup).
Following the resounding exit, Ronaldo wrote on his X account, “We stand tall, we learn, and we move forward together.”
Al-Nassr remains at the top of the Saudi Pro League standings with a perfect record of 18 points from six matches, three points ahead of their closest rivals, Al-Taawoun, and four ahead of their arch-rivals, Al-Hilal.
Al-Nassr is also competing in the AFC Champions League and currently leads their group, although coach Jorge Jesus has stated that his team’s primary objective this season is to win the Roshan League title.
Losing the King’s Cup was the second title that Ronaldo and his teammates lost this season, after losing the Saudi Super Cup to Al-Ahli following a penalty shootout defeat in the final match in Hong Kong.
