Cristiano Ronaldo set a new legendary record with Al Nassr after scoring his goal in his team’s victory over Al Ittihad on Friday.
The Portuguese capitalized on a brilliant cross from Sadio Mané and, with a perfect move inside the penalty area, headed the ball into the net, giving Jorge Jesus’s side their second goal in El Clásico.
With this goal, Ronaldo reached his 78th goal with Al Nassr in just two and a half years at Parc des Princes, becoming the Knights of Najd’s all-time top scorer in the Saudi League.
The 40-year-old thus surpassed the previous record held by Moroccan star Abderrazak Hamdallah (77 goals), continuing his dominance over the current Al Shabab player, who had previously deprived him of his record as the player with the most goals in a single season in the Roshen League.
Ronaldo’s goal tally increased to 946, moving him one step closer to achieving his dream of scoring 1,000 goals.
This was Ronaldo’s fourth goal for Al-Nassr in the Saudi League this season, but he remains the second-highest scorer for his team and the competition as a whole, behind Joao Felix, who has scored five goals in the first four rounds.
