Como Responds to Cristiano Ronaldo Signing News

A source close to Como responded to the circulating news about the Italian club’s interest in signing Cristiano Ronaldo, denying the truth and confirming that the idea had never crossed the club’s management’s mind.

Before he renewed his contract with Al-Nassr, it was reported that Como was interested in Ronaldo. Even after that, reports emerged that the Italian club might tempt Ronaldo with the idea of returning to Europe to persuade him to leave the Saudi League.

The Saudi newspaper Okaz contacted a source within Como, who said that signing Ronaldo is an impossible idea and that his club has not and will not attempt to sign the 40-year-old in the near future.

The source added, “It is impossible to sign Ronaldo. How will we pay him a salary of €400 million? We don’t waste our time on impossible ideas.”

Ronaldo renewed his contract with Al-Nassr for one year with the option to extend for another year, keeping him at Al-Nassr until 2027. He is the highest-paid player in the world, with an annual salary of approximately €200 million.

Ronaldo has expressed his desire to retire at Al-Nassr on more than one occasion. His current goal remains to reach his 1,000th career goal and, more importantly, win the 2026 World Cup with Portugal.

The Portuguese legend joined Al-Nassr in the winter of 2023, but has so far failed to win any official titles with the Saudi club.
