Germany national team goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, closed the door to one day playing in the Saudi League or the Qatari League, but he did not give the reasons for this decision.
Neuer, 38 years old, at the same time opened the door to leaving Bayern Munich before retiring from football and moving specifically to the American League.
The Bavarian giant’s goalkeeper said in media statements, “If I thought about leaving Bayern Munich, the American League would be an option for me.”
He also added, “I spoke with Stefan Schweinsteiger and he played there before, but you have to think carefully about this matter. In America, they play on artificial turf, which is not ideal for goalkeepers.”
He continued, “I received many offers, but I know that Bayern Munich is the best place for me because of the nature of the environment and the team.”
He concluded, “Although I should not talk about the matter, I will not join the Saudi League or the Qatari League.”
It is noteworthy that Neuer’s current contract with Bayern Munich extends until the summer of 2025, and he is expected to extend it for another year so that he can participate with Germany in the 2026 World Cup and conclude his football career after that.
