Chelsea qualified for the 2025 Club World Cup final after defeating Fluminense 2-0 at MetLife Stadium in the semi-final.
The match saw João Pedro make his first start since joining the Blues from Brighton just days ago, having come on as a substitute against Palmeiras in the quarter-finals.
The Brazilian international needed 18 minutes to score the Blues’ first goal with a sublime strike, before scoring the second in the 56th minute with another impressive individual effort.

It’s worth noting that João Pedro had previously played for Fluminense for a long time in the youth teams, breaking into the first team in 2020. The Brazilian club then sold him to Watford for €11 million, and now he’s here to end his team’s dream of reaching the final.
Chelsea will face the winner of the Paris Saint-Germain vs. Real Madrid match at MetLife Stadium next Sunday in the 2025 Club World Cup final.
